About the Forum
Building on the success of the first and second Budapest Africa Forums held in 2013 and 2015, this year’s event will focus on agriculture, a sector that is vital for both Africa and Hungary. We are confident that Hungarian agricultural resources – including internationally renowned researchers, a thriving food processing industry and quality agricultural education – can complement African agricultural capacities and capabilities for the benefit of both. Our goal is to bring together African and Hungarian policymakers, researchers and businesspeople with the aim of stimulating a dialogue that can possibly lead to joint projects and other forms of cooperation in the field of agriculture.
On the first day of the Forum we will organize a conference where participants will be able to address various agriculture-related issues in discussion panels. As a side event, an exhibition will be held on the same day and at the same venue to give an opportunity for Hungarian and African companies to display relevant products and services. On the second day, we will invite our African guests to join a field trip to Gödöllő and visit the premises of the Faculty of Agriculture of Szent István University and the National Agricultural Research and Innovation Centre.
